Ledger Live (recently renamed Ledger Wallet™ app) does not store your private keys and therefore does not have a conventional cloud-based login. Your security and "access" are tied directly to your physical Ledger hardware wallet.
Here is a breakdown of how the secure access works in the Ledger Live desktop and mobile applications.
Ledger Live is non-custodial software designed to be the interface for your hardware wallet (the signer). It holds three key components of your setup:
Public Keys: The app stores the public keys for your accounts, allowing it to view your balances and transaction history on the blockchain. This data is public and harmless if compromised.
App Settings: It stores your application settings, such as account names, display currency (USD, EUR, etc.), and the list of accounts you have added.
Local Password (Optional): You can set an optional password to lock the Ledger Live application itself, preventing someone who has physical access to your computer/phone from opening the app and viewing your balances.
The true keys to your assets are your Ledger Device and its PIN Code. Every sensitive action requires connecting and unlocking your Ledger device.

Launch: Double-click the Ledger Live icon on your desktop or in your Applications folder.
Optional Local Password: If you chose to set a local password during setup, you will be prompted to enter it now. This simply unlocks the application interface, not your funds.
Connect Device: To interact with your funds or manage your device, you will be prompted to plug in your Ledger device via USB.
Unlock: Enter your PIN code directly on your Ledger device to unlock it. The application is now fully functional.
Launch: Open the Ledger Wallet™ app on your smartphone (iOS or Android).
Optional Biometric Access: If enabled, you can use your Face ID or Fingerprint/Touch ID to unlock the app interface.
Connect: Tap the connection prompt to connect your mobile Ledger device (typically via Bluetooth for Nano X/Stax on mobile).
Unlock: Enter your PIN code directly on your Ledger device to authorize the mobile session.
Because Ledger Live does not use a traditional username and password for fund access, you must be hyper-vigilant against phishing scams.
Crucial Security Rule: You will NEVER be asked to enter your 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase into the Ledger Live application, a website, or a computer/phone keyboard for any reason.
Your Secret Recovery Phrase is your master key and must only ever be entered directly into the physical Ledger device itself during a setup or restoration process. Any application or website asking for it is a scam.
Always use the official Ledger website to download software and access support to protect yourself from phishing scams.
